Javier Zanetti closed out his San Siro career wearing a one-off captain's armband

The Inter captain paid tribute to all his former team-mates

JAVIER ZANETTI PLAYED his final ever game in the San Siro last night and the Inter captain did so while wearing a very special armband.

The 40-year-old revealed via Facebook that his armband for the game would contain the message ‘Zanetti 4 Ever.’

It was also crammed with the names of all his Inter team-mates – including Robbie Keane – during his 19 years at the club.

“I had wanted to put the names of all the real protagonists of my adventure at Inter, in other words the fans,” said Zanetti.

“As that was not possible, I put the names of my teammates, who were equally important for me and my career.”
